Christchurch Stayover - WAITING STORY notes

A full day in Christchurch
Bus to International Antarctic Centre; Cash fare back to hotel for cash
Ride in HÄGGLUNDS TRACKED VEHICLES
Cold room, real snow too hard for snow balls, snowmobiles
Storm - fans -18C
Lots of interesting exhibits
Small Blue Penguins inc' feeding time
4D cinema -shaken and sprayed
Husky dogs and talk re Amundsen-Scott South Pole
return bus - off early into Botanic Gardens
Summer blooming but tree showing early autumn
back to hotel
Domino's pizza and Liquorland
Shazam film

All packed before leaving campground
spare time so followed scenic route - no stop so no photos
Canterbury area
miles of flat then crossing range of hills terminating in gorge before flat run in to Christchurch
lovely lunch stop with grass cut paths through trees & bushes; very calming to get things sorted and clean ready for handing back
Long wait for staff but clean check with no damage found
Transfer had arrived 40 minutes early so was waiting when we were finally ready; local was chatty en route
